Faryl Codispoti never danced a day in his life until he was 25. In an attempt to spend more time with his sister Renee who was dying of cancer, Faryl started going out to dances with her. Out at one of those dances Renee and Faryl saw another brother and sister swing dancing. They didn't know what it was, but they both vowed to learn it. Renee took ill before they could find a place to swing dance, but Faryl stayed the course. Just after turning 26 and two months before Renee's passing, Faryl found the Philly swing dance scenes and started to dance. After two years of dancing there and at Eastern University, Faryl was asked to instruct at Eastern. Mostly self taught, he found that he was quite good at teaching and kept teaching at Eastern for the next 3 years. Faryl has been asked to dance in a number of performances and benefits. He has also won first place in swing dance competition. Faryl has also taught privately, for benefits, at the YMCA and now at his newly formed Swing Kat Entertainment!
Genevieve Adams recently graduated from Eastern University with a BA in Dance. She has been studying ballet since age 5. She started training at the Johnstown Concert Ballet Company under artistic director Carla Pruncel who danced with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. She has had solos in ballets such as The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Les Sylphides, and Don Quixote. She also studied modern, Jazz and African under Dr. Karen Clemente and Dr. Joselli Deans at EU, and Ballet under Cherie Noble of the Pennsylvania Ballet Company. She has taught ballet and modern for ages 3-18 years for 5 years at studios throughout this area. In college she has also been an active member in the swing dancing scene with being a member of Ethel's Swing Club, and taking many worshops/ classes. She has been teaching different styles of swing dancing since Swing Kat opened. Swing is one of her favorite styles of dancing!
