Our Introduction To Swing students & some of our Workshop students pay in advance for their dance lessons with us. Thus we have a return policy to help offset issues that arrise. There could be any number of reasons one might find need of pulling out of class. In any case the best policy is to notify us as soon as you learn you will not be able to hold your commitment to come to class.
1) Up to 14 days before the start date of your class, your entire payment will be returned minus PayPal fees & the cost of a US postage stamp. Payments will be funded by check.
2) Up to 7 days before the start date of your class, half of your FULL payment will be returned, fees will not apply.
3) Once we are a week from the start date of your class/workshop, all payments are final & non-refundable, however your payment may be held as credit towards a future class.
4) Once we are 2 days form the start of a class/workshop & once a class series has started not only will payments be final & non-refundable, but credit will also not be extended. The reason is that at this point Swing Kat & it’s instructors will lose money due to your late cancellation. If your class is small your registration could have made the difference between us running the class or not running the class financially speaking. If your class is full on the Lead or Follow side, then your registration has possibly kept someone else from taking class. Lastly, the decision to run your class has already been made along with the financial consequences/responsibilities of that decision.
It seldom happens, however if Swing Kat has to Cancel any entire class series, workshop or event that required pre-payment, 100% of your payment will be returned to you in a timely fashion. You will also NOT be charged PayPal Fees or US postage stamp cost. Your payment will be returned in the form of a check.
Workshop/Event – Act of God Cancellations
Bad Weather, Fires, Electrical Outages and other Acts of God are inevitable. Thus our Workshop/Event Cancellation due to Acts of God policy is to give you full credit to a future Workshop/Event of the same value. The reason for not just refunding payments is 2 fold. First is that many of our hired on professionals get paid whether a Workshop/Event runs or not. Second is that we could possibly have need of refunding hundreds of people. Please understand the difficulty of such a disaster.
Class Series – Act of God Cancellations
In the past we build in 1 snow week for every 5 week lesson series we offered. However, this policy would get complicated if we had 2 snow cancellations in a series of 5 classes. Now that we have 10 week lesson series, missing 2 weeks due to snow is much less harmful to our series of classes. So, our policy is now as follows… For every snow cancelation during a class series, we simply take $10 off the cost of our next lesson series being offered. Two snow cancellations = $20 off. The same is true for Acts of God such as electric outages, fire, etc. If we have to cancel due to an Act of God, Students will get $10 off our next lesson series being offered. ***This is not the next series you personally take!!! This is the next series we are offering. In other words, not taking our next series of classes will void your discount. ***Students will still receive all class review videos & we will still hit on all of the most important class material!
